When the place didn’t call me to let me know it was ready to pick up I assumed it hadn’t passed. I walked back braced for the news. I had no reason not to expect it to pass aside from the lack of phone call... I’ve been using the same place for years and they always call.
I’ve been emailing with a fellow who is looking to build an autocross weapon so I figured I should get serious and make sure I can actually legally sell the car. (In California you can’t sell a car unless it passes smog and it’s the seller’s responsibility.)

Masterful troll is masterful.
Dunno yet, but I’m tempted to roll the dice again with a Porsche with dodgy IMS problems again but in Cayman form. Z4's seem fun too and you can’t go wrong with a Z06 either.
I’m just starting a new job which means life will be super hectic for me as it’s a new company which means I’ll not have the time available to really hit the track anyway. On the other hand I’ll be making money and too busy to spend it which means I’ve got plenty of time to mull it all over.
You’ve been doing some Corvette shopping lately I believe?

Yes, I still imagine a C5 Z06 in my garage, but I’m not as obsessed with it as I was in late winter. I don’t want to get into doing track time, and it would be a bit beyond my current abilities to use it well at autocross . . . But I kinda want it anyway.
Hopefully in time you will adapt to the new job and be able to get back to the track with something fun.
